Summer

The summer season starts in June and finishes at the end of September. The summer attractions in the Chamonix valley rival those of winter – and we have the guests to prove it! Summer visitors enjoy hiking, mountain biking, mountaineering, paragliding, white-water rafting, golf, tennis and more. The list of available activities seems endless, and the Mont Blanc Massif offers beautiful views and a genuine high altitude experience.

We organize a barbeque on the lodge terrace every Friday evening during the summer season.

A few summer pictures:

The hiking around Vallorcine and in the nearby Chamonix valley navigates some of the most exciting and beautiful terrain in the Alps. The trails in Vallorcine are generally less-trafficked and wildlife sightings therefore more common. Both areas boast marvellous views of the Mont Blanc Massif and the Aiguilles Rouges.

Rockclimbing in "Cascade"Rock climbing in the Haute Savoie does not have the same reputation as the famous climbs found in southern France; however, the routes have tremendous variety and the area features very high quality limestone rock. Crags for beginners and experts alike are found in the area around Vallorcine (Barberine, Vallorcine Slabs, “Church crag” and Giétroz, where the rock is mostly good quality granite).

The mountains surrounding Mont Blanc have long served as the playground and training grounds for mountaineers from every corner of the world. Chamonix is often referred to as the birthplace of alpinism, and the mountains around Mt. Blanc offer an unrivalled variety of high quality routes, some of the easiest accessible on this planet.

Noire de PeutereyParagliding is a popular sport in the Alps. This fellow is flying level with the Brevent top station, with a beautiful backdrop to Mt. Blanc. Flying off Mt. Blanc is a much more technical and difficult achievement. Not only are exceptional conditions required, you must also haul your big pack to the summit.
